The Department of Political Science is dedicated to the systematic study of political ideas, institutions, processes and behaviour at the local, national and international level. Since its inception, the department has aimed to cultivate critical understanding and informed citizenship among students by inculcating analytical, theoretical and empirical approaches to the study of politics. The curriculum of the department is designed to provide a comprehensive understanding of the core areas of political theory, comparative politics, public administration, international relations and Indian political system. It emphasiszes both classical and contemporary perspectives, enabling students to engage critically with contemporary political, social and global issues. In addition to classroom learning, the department encourages research oriented activities, seminars, debates and field trips to promote intellectual curiosity and practical understanding of governance and policy-making.
