Minority Cell



 

The Minority Cell of Sri Guru Granth Sahib World University, Fatehgarh Sahib was established in 2021 with the primary aim of promoting and safeguarding the interests of minority students, including but not limited to Christians, Muslims, Jains, Buddhists and others. Our mission is to create an inclusive environment that supports the academic and personal development of students from these minority communities. 

Following are the members of the Minority Cell committee of the University:

(i)   Dr. Preet Kaur, Convener

(ii)  Ms. Narinder Kaur, Member

    (iii) Dr. Ruchi Malhotra, Member

 

 

 

The Minority Cell works with the following objectives:

  • To ensure equitable access to educational resources and opportunities within the University for students from minority communities.
  • To provide information to minority students about available scholarships, grants and financial aid programs offered by governmental and non-governmental organizations for eligible students and to assist them in the application process.
  • To organize events, workshops and seminars aimed at celebrating diverse cultural heritage of minority community and their educational upliftment.
  • To offer guidance, counselling and support services to minority students to address their academic, personal and emotional needs for ensuring their holistic development.
  • To advocate for the rights and interests of minority students within the University ensuring their grievances and concerns addressed effectively by administration.
  • To encourage research and scholarly activities focused on minority issues, cultures and experiences for contributing to the academic discourse and understanding of minority communities.
  • To facilitate partnerships and collaborations with minority communities both within and outside the University, fostering mutual understanding, respect and cooperation.
  • To provide safe and conducive environment for their over-all development.
