The Library has been divided into difference sections for its smooth functioning:-

Circulation Section: Issue and return of books is handled with the help of computers. The timings of issue and return of books are 9:00 a.m. to 3.45 p.m. in the winters and 9.00 a.m. to 4.45 p.m. in the summer.

 

Reference Section: Reference section in a library is a special area that contained materials meet only for consultation, not for borrowing these resources are used to find quick, reliable, authoritative information.

 

Display of Books / Exhibitions: On every important day, related books are displayed at the Display Window near the entrance of the Library to bring these to the notice of readers.

 

Acquisition Section: This Section acquires books and other reading material selected by the Library staff as well as recommended by the Heads of various Departments.

 

Periodicals Section: The Library subscribes to about journals, magazines and newspapers. Library has 46 print journals/magazines, 5 online subscribed journals, 14 newspapers in three languages, makes available these current sources of information. The opening hours of the Section are 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. in the summer and 9.00 a.m. to 4.00 p. m. in the winter.

 

Technical Section: Before the reading material is made available for use on the stacks, it is technically processed in this Section.

 

Computer Section: It is the part of library equipped with computers, internet accessed and digital tools to support learning and research.

 

Manuscripts and Rare Books Section: The section located in the seprate room, has two kinds of holdings i.e. Manuscripts and the Rare books.  it covers a range of subjects like Persian Court Etiquette, Poetry, writings of Sikh Gurus, translations all other religions like Hinduism, Jainism, Budhism, Islam and Christianity  etc.
