Sports facilities

SPORTS@SGGSWU

The University offers an impressive range of sports facilities that promote fitness, teamwork, and holistic development among students. The campus is equipped with a 400-meter standard athletic track, providing excellent infrastructure for training and competitive events. Major outdoor sports are well supported through dedicated fields, including a Hockey Field, Football Field, Cricket Ground, and Rugby Ground.

The University places strong emphasis on indigenous and popular sports. It offers four Kabaddi courts (two for boys and two for girls), along with a Kabaddi Synthetic Mat and a Circle-Style Kabaddi arena, enabling students to train both recreationally and professionally. Additional facilities include two Handball courts, two Kho-Kho grounds, and two Gatka arenas, reflecting the institution’s commitment to promoting traditional martial arts and regional games.

Students also benefit from well-maintained courts for racket sports, including a Badminton cemented court, a Lawn Tennis cemented court, and two Basketball courts (one cemented and one clay). A dedicated Baseball/Softball ground adds further diversity to the sporting environment.

Together, these state-of-the-art facilities support regular practice, inter-department tournaments, and large-scale sports events, ensuring that students have ample opportunities to pursue physical fitness and competitive excellence.
