Felicitation of Rugby Player Amandeep Kaur of Sri Guru Granth Sahib World University
The Department of Physical Education at Sri Guru Granth Sahib World University, Fatehgarh Sahib, organized a special felicitation ceremony to honour Ms. Amandeep Kaur, a talented rugby player and student of the M.P.Ed. (Two-Year Programme). A resident of village Dhirpur, Fatehgarh Sahib, and daughter of Shri Malook Singh, Amandeep has brought laurels to the University and the state of Punjab through her dedication, hard work, and sporting excellence.
Representing India in the Asian Rugby Emirates League held in China and Sri Lanka, Amandeep Kaur delivered an impressive performance that earned wide appreciation. Under the guidance of her coach, Mr. Sandeep Kumar, she demonstrated exceptional skill, discipline, teamwork, and determination on the field.
Her achievement was formally recognized by the Vice-Chancellor of the University Prof. (Dr.) Prit Pal Singh, who felicitated her during the ceremony held at the University campus. Addressing the gathering, the Dean Academic Affairs of the University Prof. (Dr.) Sukhwinder Singh Billing commended the exemplary performance of Punjab’s daughters who are bringing pride to the nation through sports.
Dr. Bhupinder Singh Ghumman, Head of the Department of Physical Education, congratulated Amandeep and remarked that her success is a matter of great pride for the University. He added that such players serve as an inspiration for other students and that the University remains committed to providing athletes with every possible opportunity and facility to excel at national and international levels.
Expressing her gratitude, Amandeep Kaur acknowledged the support of her parents, coach, and the University. She said that representing India was the most fulfilling moment of her life. She pledged to continue working hard to achieve greater milestones in the future.
